Miranda Peoples is a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor (LCMHC) for the state of NC with over 20 years experience providing mental health treatment for children, teens, adults and families. Miranda provides individual, family, and group therapy; specializing in trauma and PTSD treatment. 

Miranda is passionate about healing, wholeness and a better quality of life. She uses TF-CBT, CPT, and SPARCS to aid in trauma treatment and recovery. She utilizes a strengths based approach while incorporating CBT, Family Systems and other evidenced-based models to aid individuals in developing effective strategies.  

Areas of focus: Trauma, PTSD,  depression, anxiety, chronic stress and stress management, adjustment disorders, family conflict and teaching parenting skills. 

Miranda started I.C.A.R.E Counseling Services, PLLC in 2016 to provide caring and responsive trauma focused support to individuals and families. Miranda completed graduate studies at Liberty University in April 2010. She earned her undergraduate degree in Psychology from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.

Curtis Brownlee, LCMHC

Curtis Brownlee is a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor (LCMHC) with almost 20 years of clinical experience. A native of NC, he has worked in several positions within the mental health and behavioral health field. Curtis obtained clinical experience working as an Intensive In-Home team leader and therapist.  

His specialty area of focus includes: PTSD and Trauma. Currently he utilizes Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT) with adults and Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavior Therapy (TF-CBT) with children. Curtis has experience with the following mental health diagnoses: ADHD, oppositional defiant disorder, depression, anxiety, anger, parenting skill training, self-esteem and family conflict resolution. He utilizes evidenced based models to help facilitate family interaction and parent awareness as it relates to their child’s mental health diagnosis.

Mr. Brownlee graduated with his B.A in Psychology from North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University.  He completed the Master’s in Community Agency Counseling program in December 2009. Curtis has a passion for teaching and providing clinical consultation to individuals having a difficult time with case conceptualization or building rapport with children.

Doreen Miller, NCC, LCMHC

Doreen Miller is a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor (LCMHC) in the state of North Carolina and a National Certified Counselor (NCC).  Doreen earned her graduate degree in Community Counseling in 2012 in Tucson, Arizona. She gained experience in trauma treatment during her internship at the Southern Arizona Center Against Sexual Assault. She was also employed by the same agency specializing in Childhood Sexual Trauma, working with adults, children and families.  Doreen has additional experience working with families and children using the Family Centered Treatment modality.

Doreen has training and experience in Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing (EMDR) and a wide variety of modalities that will fit the specific needs of the person.  She believes each person has a unique experience, and treatment should include a wholistic view to include one’s values, culture and beliefs.  Doreen does provide Christian counseling and has completed training in chaplaincy.  Doreen’s passion is to meet you where you are right now and work toward a more fulfilling life.

Lyndsay is a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor Associate (LCMHCA) in North Carolina. She completed her Master of Science Degree in Rehabilitation Counseling from Winston-Salem State University in 2015. She has two years of clinical experience. Her training and experience includes working with adults, adolescents and children. She counsels individuals with intellectual/developmental disabilities, mental health, substance abuse, and the Deaf and Hard of Hearing. Her theoretical framework includes Reality Therapy and Cognitive Behavior Therapy. She believes assisting people with reaching their goals in life is a collaborative effort in the therapeutic process. Lyndsay’s special interest includes solution-focused therapies, career counseling, and trauma.

Marva D. Murray, LCAS, LCMHC

Marva is a Licensed Clinical Addiction Specialist (LCAS) and Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor (LCMHC) in North Carolina.  Having worked in mental health and substance abuse services for over 15 years, Marva brings a wealth of knowledge, compassion, and humility to her role as a therapist.  Her background includes work within hospitals, residential facilities, and community-based agencies. Marva received her Master of Science in Mental Health Counseling from North Carolina Central University in 2020.

Marva provides individual, couples, family, and group counseling. Her therapeutic framework encompasses a person-centered approach.  She uses multiple therapy models and interventions with a focus in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Systems Theory.  Areas of special interest include anger management, trauma, grief and loss, addictions & substance abuse, marriage and family conflict, depression, and anxiety.  Marva has a passion for her community and the work that she does.  She honors uniqueness and seeks to assist in uncovering answers that support your recovery and overall healing.

Ariane Omari, MSW, LCSWA

Ariane is a Licensed Clinical Social Work Associate in the state of North Carolina. With her pre- and post-academia commitments, Ariane has nearly six years of experience in the human service field where she has previously worked with survivors of domestic violence and sexual assault, Veterans and other populations experiencing homelessness, and populations experiencing severe and persistent mental illnesses. Ariane has nearly 2 years of clinical experience.

Ariane graduated from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro in 2018 as a Psychology major. She graduated from Walden University in 2022 with her Master’s in Social Work with a concentration in Advanced Clinical Practice.

Ariane highlights the importance of one’s overall well-being as evidenced by her holistic approach to mental health. She considers the whole person- mind, body, and spirit when delivering care to others. Ariane incorporates mindfulness-based and cognitive-behavioral strategies such as relaxation, deep breathing, meditation, mindful journaling, and several others ensuring positive treatment outcomes necessary to make one feel whole again!

Shani is a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor Associate (LCMHCA) in North Carolina. She earned her Master of Science in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Walden University in 2022. She has one year of clinical experience. She provides individual and group counseling for adults and adolescents.

She has been trained to work with the following presenting issues: substance abuse, anger management, sexual trauma, depression, and anxiety. Her therapeutic approach incorporates several major theories of counseling, including Solution-Focused, Cognitive-Behavioral, and Person-Centered.

 She prides herself on tailoring her particular focus to the needs of each client. She believes that every individual possesses the strength and potential to work through life problems and that most issues are developmentally based. Savannah J. Gee

Counseling Intern

Savannah is a clinical intern completing her M.A. in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Liberty. She attended North Carolina State University with a Bachelor of Science in Sport Management with a minor in Sport Psychology. Savannah has completed intensive courses in both individual and group therapy. She is a certified SYMBIS (Save Your Marriage Before It Starts) Assessment Facilitator and has worked in a psychiatric clinical setting for the past three years.

Her areas of interest include children, and young adults, PTSD, life transitions, and depression/anxiety disorders. She believes in using research-supported interventions to provide the best treatment for clients. Savannah’s primary focus is to foster a safe and non-judgmental environment so that clients feel understood and heard. She is currently training in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Solution-Focused Therapy (SFT). Savannah strives to help others achieve their wellness goals by walking with them during their process.
